During the holidays this summer I did a hike with my family in a unique spot ...
Departing from Riva del Garda we crossed Rovereto and reached the small town of Brentino along the valley that goes to Verona.
From here begins a path starting from 130 meters above sea level leads to almost 770 meters above sea level.
Through a stairway of 1500 steps to reach the Santuario Madonna della Corona .
The sanctuary was built on a vertical rock wall that descends steeply to the valley floor.
When starting from Brentino do not see it ... it goes up for a long time along the path made by these steps, but nothing of the Sanctuary.
(By the way we left around 12:00, the masses were already over and we have not even heard ringing bells
They could give an indication of the direction and distance of the Sanctuary).
At some point you reach an area where the steps are replaced by a succession of ramps made by literally steps carved into the rock
flanked by a low wall on the exposed part.
Even more amazing is the effect of this staircase from where you can see the various back that up.
Once this part of senitero starts to climb more gently until, in the midst of greenery, you comnicia to glimpse a bell ...
and here the surprise leaves you speechless;
as you advance the size of the sanctuary, the place where the rock wall, which was built behind it, are becoming sharper and more amazement.
Last effort (there are still a couple of steps) and we are on the small square in front of the Sanctuary. Raise your head and see the tip of the tower that seems to touch the rock wall above it.
Even when you walk inside the Sanctuary does not remain indifferent. Two of its walls are made of mountain rock.
I could still tell you to dwell in this place .. but maybe the following photos speak louder than words .... Go there, he deserves. |
Among the suggestions that I can tell you, definitely the best time is the summer but spring or autumn, only for a temperature of speech.
Else, for those who do not hear or can not do this hike, you can also reach the top Sanctuary. You reach the town of Spiazzi and from here there are shuttle buses that lead to the shrine. |
